The third edition of the Brussels Fashion Days will take place on 17, 18 and 19 October 2014.
The start of the school year is filled with fashion events during different Fashion Weeks held across the world. As for Belgium, it will not be outdone thanks to the Brussels Fashion Days during fashion week in Brussels. This event was proposed by Serge Vanderheyden and will offer an overview of Belgian fashion, which makes it the largest gathering of the fashion sector in our country with more than 8000 visitors in 2013.
This year alone, the Brussels Fashion Days will organise a show with ten designers from the 2014 graduation class of ten Belgian fashion schools. The MAD Brussels (Mode & Design Center) will offer its "absolute favourite" selection for the opening show on Friday, 17 October, in the early evening. Come and discover the most beautiful creations by Emmanuel Beguinot of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of Antwerp, by Nele Berckmans of the School of Arts-Kaske, Ilke Cop of Sask, Anouk Fallon of La Cambre, Sophie de Moor of Francisco Ferrer, Marine Declercq of Ateliers Lannaux, Dolores Gossye of Saint Luc, Louise Deharre of Helmo, Seda Djanti of Château Massart and Marie Roy of Saint Luc Tournai.
On Saturday afternoon and Saturday night, the magazine 'ELLE Belgium' will produce a magnificent show at the venue where the spectators can discover the new silhouettes introduced for the first time by Véronique Leroy, Carine Gilson, Arma Cutis, Omsk Belgium or even Doriane Van Overeem.
The weekend will come to an end with a grand finale of colourful ensembles produced by the best students from Belgian fashion schools.
In total, four shows are presented under the supervision and coordination of Guillaume Joveneau who will direct what is the best out there in terms of creation, but also of Belgium's future most promising hopefuls.
The hairstyling will be provided by Adrien Coelho from L'Oréal Professionnel and the make-up by MAC.
The entire area will be enriched by the exhibition of known and recognised photographers who have dedicated their career to research on the perfect shot. Visitors will also have the opportunity to enjoy a selection of photographs, some of which have already been presented at the Chic Outlet Shopping of Maasmechelen Village, as well as a Fashion Talk where the public will have the pleasure of meeting, among others, Didier Vervaeren (Fashion Curator/MAD) but also Jean-Paul Lespagnard (Fashion Designer). The Fashion Talk will be hosted by Bea Ercolini, editor-in-chief of ELLE Belgium.
One thing is new this year; a large Fashion Pop-up Store will be open during the three days of the event. According to the programme, more than 30 designers will sell their most beautiful pieces, including, among others, Control Studio, Niyona, Versa Versa, O’Leary, Aurore Havenne, Conni Kaminski, Marie Le Lorrain, Enora Antoine, Emmanuelle Lebas, Natacha Cadonici, Telmee, and Radillon… The visitors will get a refund of their entrance ticket if they buy at least for 120€ by the same creator. (12€)
Thanks to IMM (International Model Management), the visitors will be able to try their luck to become the new face of the agency via permanent casting. The "New Face" will have the privilege of driving around in a DS 3 Cabrio for two months.
Other activities will also be offered to allow the public to dive into the fashion universe and its many facets: a fashion design workshop with Bernina, a beauty area by L’Oréal Professionnel and MAC, a concept bar by No Limit and a lounge area in collaboration with Liefmans.
The car brand DS will offer its visitors the opportunity to speed off like a professional driver while wearing Belgian creations.
This weekend, the public will see the doors of a fascinating fashion world open up, which is often considered to be exclusive and inaccessible.
